Sea Sirens: Imaan Hammam Sparkles in Swarovski's Venus Campaign for Spring 2024

Dutch-Moroccan Egyptian model Imaan Hammam stars in Swarovski’s latest campaign for their Spring 2024 collection, captured by photographer Steven Meisel. Hammam is joined by a stellar lineup including Irina Shayk, Karlie Kloss, Fei Fei Sun, and Abby Champion, as they morph into ethereal sea creatures, reimagining the classical figure of Venus in a contemporary light.

In a statement, Swarovski’s Global Creative Director Giovanna Engelbert said: “The Venus campaign brings to life the Spring/Summer 2024 collection, inspired by a dream of an underwater universe. In this campaign, I reimagined the timeless Venus archetype, exploring it through a modern interpretation that resonates with contemporary ideals of elegance, empowerment, creativity, and grace perfectly embodied by these iconic models.”

The collection mirrors the campaign's underwater theme, showcasing crystal and pearl jewelry adorned with motifs of the sea like seashells and starfish, complemented by a soothing color palette reminiscent of oceanic serenity. Stylist Karl Templer curates ensembles that seamlessly integrate with the aquatic theme, while hairstylist Guido Palau and makeup artist Pat McGrath enhance the mermaid-inspired illusion with their artistry.

In a separate venture, Hammam recently took center stage as the featured face of Jacquemus’ “Les Sculptures” campaign. Shot against the backdrop of Parisian streets, she showcased Jacquemus' latest collection, wearing striking outfits including a patterned black-and-white coat with voluminous sleeves and a high collar, carrying a coordinated bag seamlessly merging with her coat's design. Additionally, she wore a snug black dress with a hood partially obscuring her face. This collaboration marks a continuation of Hammam's relationship with the brand, having previously appeared in their Spring 2021 campaign and walked their runway in 2020.

Established in 2009, the label has experienced rapid expansion, largely attributed to the founder’s astute social media presence—radiating warmth and accessibility, a departure from the perceived aloofness often associated with high-fashion circles. Hammam's involvement in both campaigns underscores her status as a versatile and sought-after model, celebrated for her ability to embody diverse styles and themes within the fashion world.
