Spotify Declares Taylor Swift As The Most-Streamed Artist In Saudi Arabia For The Year 2023

The audio streaming platform Spotify unveiled its annual summary featuring the most popular artists, songs, albums, and podcasts streamed in each country throughout the past year.

Akshat Harbola, the Managing Director for the Middle East, North Africa, and South Asia, highlighted the diverse musical preferences of Saudi audiences. The report, coinciding with the fifth anniversary of Spotify's launch in the MENA region, revealed a remarkable 9,150 percent growth in streams of female artists in Saudi Arabia. Notably, Taylor Swift emerged as the most popular female artist.

Among the most-streamed Arab artists in the Kingdom, Assala Nasri secured the fifth spot, and Sherine claimed the tenth position. Meanwhile, Balqees's "Da Elly 7sal" ranked third, and Oumaima Taleb's "Alfin Bab" secured the eighth spot on the list of the most-streamed Arabic songs.

While international artists dominated the charts, with Taylor Swift, The Weeknd, and Lana Del Rey leading the pack in Saudi Arabia, there was a clear indication of Saudis' appreciation for global music trends in the lists of the most-streamed songs and albums. Adele's "Set Fire to the Rain," Jung Kook's "Seven," and Interworld's "Metamorphosis" emerged as the top three most-streamed songs, while The Weeknd's "Starboy," Metro Boomin's "Heroes and Villains," and Adele's "21" topped the list of most-streamed albums.
