We're Still Not Over Kylie Jenner's Alaia-esque Aspen Moments

The first week of 2023 saw the founder of Kylie Cosmetics appear in public wearing two looks created by Maison Alaia, the late Tunisian designer Azzedine Alaia.

The 25-year-old fashion icon's first look consisted of an edgy vintage flared black shearling coat that she styled as a minidress. The coat was initially created in 1987. It had an uneven zipper and an exaggerated beige collar and cuffs. She completed her outfit with sheer black tights, black leather gloves, knee-high boots, a fuzzy black bucket hat, and a camel turtleneck tucked beneath the coat.

Kylie's second appearance was an unexpected surprise. She was dressed in a black bodysuit with a low neckline. She completed her ensemble with a fur coat, leather gloves, and matching pointed-toe shoes. She wore a sleek back bun for her hair and a dramatic red lip with soft glam makeup.

Alaia's catsuits appear to be popular with A-list stars. In July, Beyonce appeared in her "Break My Soul" music video wearing a bodysuit like that worn by Kylie. Elbow-high lace gloves were part of Beyonce's figure-hugging costume.

Kylie and her sister Kendall rang in the new year with a select group of relatives and close friends in Aspen, Colorado. With her daughter Stormi Webster, as well as her closest girlfriends Hailey Bieber and Anastasia Karanikolaou, Kylie shared a carousel of pictures on Instagram. The post's caption said "2023." Justin Bieber maintained a low profile while accompanying his wife Hailey.

Kim, Khloe, and Kourtney Kardashian spent their new year in Los Angeles and posted pictures with their friends Malika and Khadijah Haqq.

The 82-year-old Tunisian fashion designer Alaia passed away in November 2017 following a heart attack. Alaia's partners vowed to maintain his brand after his untimely death. One of Alaia's closest colleagues, Carla Sozzani, asserts that the archives include enough items, samples, and ideas to develop new collections for decades. Since they are reinterpretations of the designer's most recognizable designs, the house now refers to each new offering as "Les Editions" rather than "collections."
