Bahrain’s “Spring Of Culture” festival is renowned for culture, art, literature and music, and for this year’s edition, Emirati music icon, Hussain Al Jassmi will join a plethora of international artists and performers on stage.

Due to COVID-19 and the restrictions in place, the festival has been cancelled for two years in a row, and is returning for the first time since 2019 and is expected to be better than ever. Moreover, what makes “Spring Of Culture” more exciting for this year is the fact that the Golden Jubilee theme for this year is also in line with Bahrain’s 50th Independence Day.

The much loved festival includes various types of entertainment such as dance and theatre performances, live music, art exhibitions, pop-up stores, panel talks and lectures as well as “architectural launches.”

This year, the festival will also be premiering its first ever event at the Al Dana Amphitheatre where Hussain Al Jassmi will be lighting up the evening by performing his greatest hits on March 4th 2022. Palestinian singer Omar Kamal will also take to the stage at the Bahrain National Theatre on March 10th 2022.

Bahrain’s Cultural Hall will too be hosting a series of performances from all over the world that are held in partnership with the embassies of nations in the Kingdom. The Great Arias of Opera performance is by Teatro Massimo and will take the audience on a journey through their most celebrated works. There will also be a Qawali Night which where visitors can enjoy Sufi music and the dance events will include traditional folk performances in Dar Al Muharraq, Dar Bin Harban and Dar Al Riffa.

HE Shaikha Mai Bint Mohammed Al-Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities and Chairperson of the Board of the Arab Regional Centre for World Heritage, said in a statement about the forthcoming event, “Through the Spring of Culture Festival, we reaffirm the importance of cultural work. Culture is the global language that we use to communicate with different peoples and is our tool to build bridges between the Kingdom of Bahrain and civilizations from around the world.”
