Turn Heads With A Limited-Edition Piece From Sarah’s Bag That Will Help Empower Women

Mastercard, the Official Payment Technology Partner of Expo 2020 Dubai, continues to give women more opportunities through its latest extended venture with Sarah’s Bag.

Sarah Beydoun, the Founder of Lebanese social impact fashion business Sarah’s Bag, has teamed up with Mastercard for the limited-edition “Priceless” collection. Available for sale online as official Expo 2020 Dubai merchandise, the collection will support the women behind Beydoun’s network. It builds upon the ongoing partnership between Sarah’s Bag, known for its elevated, handcrafted pieces, and Mastercard, which has been supporting women-led small-and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in the region by #EmpoweringHerBusiness.

The “Priceless” collection stems from Mastercard’s collaborative efforts with Expo 2020 Dubai, to join hands and further deliver on its commitment to developing more opportunities for women across the globe. The range was inspired by the Mastercard brand identity, featuring its iconic colours, with red standing for passion and yellow representing optimism. Additionally, the collection still keeps that loyalty to the Arabesque modern design Sarah’s Bag is renowned for alive. The result is a unique collection of statement, hand-crafted pieces that truly represent the modern Arab woman.

“Through this collaboration, I am delighted to be sharing the work of our female artisans on a global platform, thus connecting them to priceless opportunities and ensuring they are able to continue supporting their families and wider communities throughout these challenging times,” Beydoun, who aims to empower women with the bags and accessories, said. “We need to recognise the influence and commercial contribution of women entrepreneurs with specific products that are created for women by design, and this collection does just that.”

The global technology company in the payments industry’s longstanding partnership with Sarah’s Bag began when Beydoun featured as one of five women entrepreneurs in the award-winning Mastercard documentary “FIVE.” The inclusion of the film “Sarah’s Bag” looked at the how Beydoun made it her mission to support women from previously disadvantaged backgrounds and reflected the value that women can bring when they are given the opportunity.

The “Priceless” Collection reinforces Mastercard’s commitment to support women owned SMEs, a market segment that has pivoted to adapt to a new world of work with renewed confidence and adaptability. Growing the contribution of women entrepreneurs ensures positive outcomes, as almost half of female entrepreneurs (48.7%) around the world report being driven by a desire to contribute to the greater societal good, found by the Mastercard MEA SME Confidence Index. Through creation of such partnerships and development of digital platforms, Mastercard brings the region’s female SME owners closer to realising new business opportunities and realigning their business models to cater to new consumer behaviour and local or global needs, which is an avid area of interest found by the 2020 Mastercard Index of Women Entrepreneurs (MIWE).
