According to the Gastat rates, the unemployment decreased by 0.2 percent to 5.9%, while women's unemployment decreased by 0.4 percent to 21.9 percent.

The 62.1 percent of unemployed Saudi women and 44.9 percent of unemployed Saudi men would only accept a commuting time of an hour or less, indicating a lack of mobility among the country's unemployed.

Over the same time period, the overall unemployment rate for Saudis and non-Saudis remained at 6.6 percent.

Furthermore, the female participation rate in Saudi Arabia increased by 1.7 percent to 34.1 percent, while male participation fell by 0.9 percent to 65 percent. In Saudi Arabia, male and female labor force participation increased by 0.4 percent to 49.8%.

The labor force participation rate is the ratio of employed and unemployed workers to the working-age population, which includes people aged 15 and up.

This metric, according to the authorities, assesses the economy's performance and ability to generate new jobs. When the ratio rises, it signifies that job growth is surpassing population growth. The employed-to-working-age population ratio is used to calculate it.
