These 4 Festivals Coming to Saudi Arabia's Renowned AlUla

Situated in the Medina region of Saudi Arabia, the northwest city of AlUla is known for its stunning desert landscapes, but it's also popular for many of its historical sites and rich cultural heritage. Currently, it plays host to a series of must-attend events, starting from December 21 and running till March 31, 2022. The events fall into four categories that must not be missed: Winter at Tantora, AlUla Arts, AlUla Skies, and AlUla Wellness Festival. Let's have a look at each!

Winter at Tantora

From horse races to concerts, the renowned Winter at Tantora festival promises to bring even more fun, more entertainment, and more awe-inspiring moments to all this year. The festival is scheduled to host concerts with five artists from the region plus three international artists. There will also be a couture fashion show for horses called "Ikmah Fashion Calvary," as well as other events such as the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Endurance Race and desert polo. The event will run from December 21, 2021 till March 27, 2022.

AlUla Arts

AlUla historically played a role as a crossroad for many civilizations, which makes it the perfect host to an array of exhibitions this year by top Saudi Arabian and international talents. There will also be screening of local art house films. AlUla Arts will run from February 13 to February 26, 2022.

AlUla Skies

AlUla Skies Festival is all about hot air balloons as visitors take to the sky to view the stunning landscapes below. Indeed, this event is a great way to get panoramic views of AlUla's heritage sites and landscapes, and as if all that wasn’t enough, there will also be other activities such as stargazing, a truly mesmerizing experience given AlUla’s location and natural landscape. This event will run from February 27 to March 12, 2022.

AlUla Wellness Festival

In addition to the three events above, visitors will also get the chance to focus on their wellbeing, to meditate and reflect at AlUla Wellness Festival. The city's oasis is set to be the perfect venue for visitors to feel relaxed as they partake in yoga and other meditative activities. The Five Senses Sanctuary will be providing the services, and the Garden of Moments is a great spot to reflect. The event will run from March 17 to March 27, 2022.
