Princess Diana's Niece Wears 5 Dream Bridal Outfits, Masterminded By Dolce & Gabbana

The five bespoke gowns celebrated “the beauty of the bride, the passion for AltaModa and the absolute joy of the occasion,” according to the Italian fashion house that pulled out all the stops…

Lady Kitty Spencer recently wed Michael Lewis in a lavish, private ceremony at the 17th-century Baroque home Villa Aldobrandini, in the Frascati area of Rome. And when a model and fashion enthusiast marries a retail tycoon their nuptials are naturally bound to be a seriously high-fashion affair.

As a global ambassador for Dolce & Gabbana, it was only fitting Spencer, Princess Diana’s niece, turned to the Italian luxury label when it was time to wed her South African multi-millionaire, after two plus years of dating. For the memorable festivities, Dolce & Gabbana designed not one or two, but five different custom handmade AltaModa gowns. While each frock was extremely different from the other, they were all inspired by the 30-year-old beauty’s English heritage and her love of Italian culture.

Domenico Dolce told “Tatler” that the bride wanted her main dress to be “fairly traditional” yet “timeless.” The other half of the design duo, Stefano Gabbana, added that although Spencer was inspired by her love of Italy, she is also “a girl who is very attached to her origins, to England; to her heritage of the great Victorian era. And like all the English people, she has a great passion for all kinds of flowers.”

While walking down the aisle with her brother and half-brother to meet Lewis, the 62-year-old owner of the clothing company Whistles, Spencer opted for a Victorian-inspired lace bridal gown. The daughter of the late princess’s younger brother, Earl Charles Spencer, looked stunning in the traditional long-sleeved white design featuring a lace turtleneck, dramatic peaked-shoulders, a nipped-in silhouette and a full skirt. “Thank you from the bottom of my heart Domenico & Stefano for creating a gown beyond my wildest dreams for the most important day of my life. There are no words that could ever express my gratitude,” the newlywed shared on Instagram.

And for the sumptuous dinner that took place after the couple said “I do,” the bride changed into an off-the shoulder, white double organza hand-painted silk gown. The creation came embellished with pale pink and yellow flowers and crystals along the top and bottom of the skirt. Additionally, Romanesque statues, pillars and archways appeared in the middle of the jaw-dropping gown.

To boogie the night away, Spencer donned a metallic cocktail dress, which was totally embroidered with gold and silver beads. And on the following day, the gorgeous bride looked amazing in a silk dress decorated with discrete sequins, porcelain-esqe appliqué flowers and double duchesse ribbons.

Although Spencer wore some stunning jewellery throughout the wedding weekend, she skipped out on the famous Spencer Tiara, which her late aunt, Princess Diana, and her mother, Victoria Aitken (née Lockwood), wore on their big days. The last royal to wear the family heirloom while making wedding vows was Lady Celia McCorquodale, in 2018.

While Spencer’s father and cousins, Prince Willam and Prince Harry, did not attend the wedding, some of her famous friends, including Pixie Lott, Sabrina Dhowre Elba (Idris Elba’s wife), Elon Musk's mother and Viscountess Emma Weymouth were spotted enjoying the event. Her twin sisters Lady Eliza and Lady Amelia Spencer and their partners, as well as her other siblings, were also at the wedding , which has been billed the society wedding of the year.
