Lady Gaga And Jennifer Lopez Stun While Performing At Inauguration Ceremony
They really brought star power to the 46th inauguration…
Jennifer Lopez and Lady Gaga delivered incredible and powerful performances during America’s recent Inauguration Day. And as the songbirds proved why they are two of the world’s biggest musical stars, they led the way when it came to bringing signature Hollywood glamour to Washington, D.C.’s Capitol Building. Here are the details of how, as expected, both movers and shakers took to the stage in breathtakingly beautiful looks worthy of the historic occasion.
While talking about Lady Gaga, a grand entrance is the norm, and she didn’t disappoint when it was time for her to sing the National Anthem during Joe Biden and Kamala Harris’s swearing-in ceremony. Her attention-grabbing custom-made outfit, dreamed up by Schiaparelli, certainly played a big part in making the Oscar-and Grammy-winning star’s arrival dramatic. While she chose an iconic French house, Daniel Roseberry, the Artistic Creator behind the Haute Couture look, hails from Texas.
The “love letter” to his country, as he described the look in a statement, featured a voluminous full-length silk ballgown skirt in a bold red hue. The outfit with an avant-garde twist also included a structured navy fitted jacket adorned with an oversized gold brooch of a dove holding an olive branch in its beak.
While singing her show-stopping rendition of "The Star-Spangled Banner" Lady Gaga, 34, had her blonde locks styled in a Dutch braid with a ribbon to reveal gold olive branch ear cuff accessories. The multi-hyphenate, who actively backed the Biden-Harris ticket throughout the run-up to the election, completed her one-of-a-kind look with black gloves, a striking berry-toned lipstick, on fleek eyeliner and a golden microphone.
Jennifer Lopez performed a spellbinding medley of the patriotic songs, “This Land Is Your Land” and “America the Beautiful” in true J.Lo fashion: with a head-turning, high-glam outfit. The 2020 Super Bowl star opted for an all-white look that was a nod to the suffragettes.
The head-to-toe Chanel ensemble, apart from the elegant open-toe heels, which were from Jimmy Choo, was from the maison’s autumn/winter 2020/2021 ready-to-wear collection and included a beautiful ecru and tweed ankle-length overcoat. Underneath, Lopez, who threw in a nod to her 1999 hit "Let's Get Loud" while she was on stage, rocked a high-neck silk ruffled blouse and sequinned high-waisted, wide-legged trousers.
The uber fit 51-year old teamed her outfit with layered belts, a pearl cuff and statement crystal-embellished earrings, also by Chanel. Another notable piece of jewellery was her gleaming engagement ring. While posing with her fiance, Alex Rodriguez, she was spotted in matching cap, gloves and bag as well. Additionally, Lopez, who headlined “Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve,” wore her hair in a sleek half updo (maybe her shiniest ever), which allowed her long waves to swirl halfway down her back. A grey smoky eye with sparkling white inner corners, along with long, fluttery lashes, a glossy nude lip, some super contouring and that JLo glow, made up the rest of her stellar beauty look.
