Are You Ready For Queen B's New Visual Album?

Queen Bey has recently announced that she will release a visual album on July 31st and we couldn’t be more excited! Lending her voice and platform to the Black Lives Matter movement, it is entitled, “Black Is King,” and will be available to stream on Disney Plus. The forthcoming album bases itself on the all-time favorite Disney movie, “The Lion King: The Gift,” in which she starred as Nala in the recently animated remake.

At the end of June the superstar took to social media and her website to share a 1 minute teaser of what we can expect from the forthcoming album and of course, it is beyond incredible. With her signature hands-on approach, Yonce curates and creates huge visual productions for her albums and musical releases, including her self-titled album “Beyonce” and “Lemonade.”

With her forthcoming body of work following up from her latest single which she released on Juneteenth, “Black Parade,” Beyonce’s new visual works are (as usual) written, produced and directed by herself – further proving that she really can do it all. According to an American publication, the stunning visual release will also feature the likes of Childish Gambino, Tierra Whack, Kendrick Lamar and her husband, Jay-Z and daughter Blue Ivy Carter, just to name a few!

In a press release from Disney and Parkwood Entertainment, which is Beyonce’s very own company, “Black Is King” will be a “celebratory memoir for the world on the Black experience,” and the album “pays tribute to voyages of Black families throughout time.” The statement also read, “The visual album tells the story of a young king’s ‘transcendent journey through betrayal, love and self-identity.’ His ancestors help guide him toward his destiny, and with his father’s teachings and guidance from his childhood love, he earns the virtues needed to reclaim his home and throne.”
