The First Saudi Thriller Series Is Dropping On Netflix In June

We simply can’t wait.

Netflix announced that it will premiere the first Saudi thriller series on June 11. We bring you, Whispers, an all-Saudi production that’s bound to keep you on your feet! The leading streaming platform announced that the upcoming show will be released in 190 countries and subtitled in over 20 languages.

Produced by Entertainment Phenomena Company, “Whispers” is an eight episode drama revolving around a family who mourns the death of the family patriarch. The late-father Hassan’s past resurfaces before the family business’ launch of a new smart app.

Directed by Hana Alomair, the cast includes fresh new talent from the Middle East such as Mysoon Alruwaily, Shaimaa Al-Fadl, Nada Tawhid, Elham Ali, Norah Alanbar, and Leila Arabi. Veteran Saudi Arabian actor Abdul Mohsen Alnimer will also star in the anticipated thriller drama alongside Ali Al-Sharif, Osama Al-Qass, and Mohamed Ali.

Alomair said in a statement: “‘Whispers’ is a Saudi-produced dramatic thriller series that offers a new take on storytelling and marks my first time working with the great actor, Abdul Mohsen  Alnimer. The series also features several unconventional female characters who truly embody the reasons why this project is so close to my heart. I am very proud that Netflix decided to make the series available to their 183 million subscribers worldwide and I hope viewers in Saudi Arabia, the GCC, the Arab region and beyond will enjoy it.”
