Yousef Akbar first came to light at Fashion Forward in Dubai, and has since garnered much interest for his modern approach to women’s evening wear. Fascinated by the interaction of material and body, Yousef Akbar is about challenging convention in cutting and construction of garments while maintaining elegance and femininity; “My designs are the voice I use to deliver my message to the world, in the form of fabric worn on the body,” he said.

With sustainability and ethical fashion being the order of the day, Shahd and Naeema Al Shehail are the founders of Saudi label, Abadia. The label looks to transcend seasonal trends whilst consistently giving a nod to their Saudi heritage and culture. Abadia’s artisans maintain the use of traditional techniques for embroideries and embellishments that remain a constant in the brand’s collections of timeless luxury RTW pieces.

Layla Moussa

Layla Moussa’s eponymous label has been around for over 40 years, and the designer herself has dedicated her life to showcasing local Saudi Arabian artisanal crafts. With a history as an antiques dealer and interior designer, the creative realized that her true passions lay in textiles, and from there she went on to create made-to-measure coats and kaftans that she is now renowned for.
