Lush Greenery And Spectacular Peaks, Discover Jebel Fifa In Saudi Arabia’s Jizan Region

As Saudi Arabia prepares itself to welcome tourists later on this year, the Kingdom is slowly opening its treasures to the world, showing the vast selection of historical places and natural sites that are well known to locals but relatively unknown to outsiders. One of these impressive locations is Fifa Mountains, also known as Jebel Fayfa, Feyfa, or Faifa.

According to RiyadhConnect.com, Fifa Mountains has several nicknames, including “Neighbor of the Moon,” “Heavens of the Earth,” and “Magical Fifa” and it’s easy to see why. Rising 2,600 meters above sea level, this lush green stretch of stunning peaks is located in the southernmost region of Jizan close to Saudi Arabia’s border with Yemen, part of Al-Sarawat mountain range that runs parallel to the western coast of the Arabian Peninsula.

Located just 60 kilometers from the Red Sea, Fifa attracts around one million visitors each year to its slopes. Not only is it incredibly green and serene, it features beautiful terraces built over centuries in order to allow agriculture to develop in this fertile but steep land. The terraced hills are dotted with houses, adding to the beauty of the location. Besides the scenic views, Fifa Mountains also offer visitors a view of ancient fortresses and structures that were constructed to protect the area from invaders.

The Jizan region as a whole is excellent for those looking to do a bit of geological tourism, as it offers vast contrasts of lush green vistas looming over treeless sandy plains. From mountain ranges to natural hot springs in Al Khoubah (with water temperatures rising to 113 degrees Fahrenheit (45 degrees Celsius), ancient fortresses to scenic landscape, Fifa is definitely not the only spot you should check out when in Jizan.
