The heat was on during the first weekend of the 2018 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival, and we’re not just talking about the weather in Indio, California!
During the opening weekend, 13-15 April, lucky festival-goers witnessed Beyoncé’s surprise reunion with girl band Destiny’s Child (for the first time since 2015). Queen Bey made history as the first black woman to headline Coachella, with the two-hour set including appearances by her husband Jay-Z and sister Solange. They also saw The Weekend getting emotional while singing "Call Out My Name," which is rumoured to be about Selena Gomez. The singer also belted out "Wasted Times," a song considered to be about wanting his other ex, Bella Hadid, back. Plus, of course there were lots of other stellar performances, including one by Cardi B.
However, Coachella is also about all the amazing parties and interactive tents, giving bloggers, models, influencers and celebrities lots of opportunities to show off their best street styles and serve up lots of inspo! While we didn’t see as many flower crowns, chokers and flash tattoos as we used to, we did see another festival staple, tons of fringe. There were also lots and lots of crop tops, very short denim shorts, flowy ensembles and statement accessories. And when it came to the hues, bright colours and white dominated. Festival season is always a great time to get experimental with hair too, and it was all about double buns, super creative braids, pigtails and undone waves.
