From March 28 to April 2, more than 30 designers, brands, and artists from around the world will gather in Dubai for Pret-A-Cover Buyer’s Lane. Through pop-ups, meet-and-greets, and catwalk projections, Pret-A-Cover Buyer’s Lane aims to bring to the forefront the industry’s best modest haute couture and pret-a-porter designs, as well as street-wise labels, accessory lines, and beauty products.

This six-day modest fashion event is organized by Islamic Fashion Design Council (IFDC), is supported by Dubai Islamic Economy Development Centre, and will make its debut at the Emirate’s City Walk 2. The event is free and open to the general public as long as you register online beforehand. For more information, visit the event’s website pacbl.ifdcouncil.org and sign up.

Islamic Fashion and Design Council (IFDC) is the world’s leading modest fashion and design council representing the Islamic economy and its stakeholders. With offices in 10 countries, headquarters in New York, and growing rapidly to other countries, IFDC is a leading advocate for Islamic fashion and design professionals and aspiring talent.

Globally, modest fashion has been gaining traction over the last few years. According to Forbes, Muslims spent around $243 billion on clothing in 2015 while the revenues from modest fashion reached $44 billion. Muslim consumer spending on clothing is expected to reach $368 billion by 2021, which would be a 51 percent increase from 2015.

Today, more and more international retail brands are launching modest fashion lines to meet changing market demands. Dolce & Gabbana introduced its line of abayas and hijabs in January 2016, Carolina Herrera followed suit the year after in spring, and Nike made headlines around the world when it introduced a sports hijab that same year. In addition, London hosted its first-ever Modest Fashion Week last February, featuring more than 40 labels showcasing styles that ranged from maxi dresses to hijabs.

The event is taking place at Dubai, City Walk 2, from March 28 to April 2. To RSVP, click here: https://www.ifdcouncil.org/attendee-sign-up/
