Oscars 2018: 19 Gorgeous Beauty Looks to Steal

he biggest night in film treated us to fresh takes on seriously show-stopping smokiness, lipsticks with vampy vibes and lots of lobs.

Jennifer Lawrence

While we love fabulous designer frocks, we think the stars' beauty looks deserve to be applauded too. With the Academy Awards being the final and most dramatic event, call it the pinnacle if you want, of awards season, artists made sure to shake up the night and end things with a bang.

The glorious beauty looks spotted at the Dolby Theatre on Sunday gave us lots of inspiration, including new colours, textures and a fresh approach to hair and make-up. And thankfully, since make-up doesn’t come with a couture gown price tag, we can easily start copying.

Allison Williams oozed Old Hollywood glamour with her smooth, cascading  retro waves. Her make-up included shimmery eyeshadow, a soft, smokey smudge of eyeliner, nude lipstick and out-to-there lashes.

“Red Sparrow” star Jennifer Lawrence’s loose, messy and natural waves mirrored her fun persona. We also loved the super heavy winged smokey chocolate eyeshadow, which was blended upwards, and brick coloured lip, with the mix proving you can have bold eyes and lips at the same time.

Margot Robbie showed off a freshly trimmed shoulder-grazing lob with a slight S-wave. The Australian darling’s fresh and glowing no make-up make-up look included pink lips and blush and a swipe of silver eyeshadow.

Janet Mock went for tight curls that gave her hair a lot of added volume.

The transgender rights activist, author and TV host’s look also had an emphasis on bold lashes, set to be the beauty trend of 2018.

Actress Gal Gadot embodied traditional old school glamour on the red carpet with red lips, fluttery lashes and an elegant French twist. The “Wonder Woman” star often rocks scarlet lips, but we really love this darker raspberry shade on her.

Let’s have a moment for Zendaya’s high, ultra chic topknot. Who else could turn an everyday hairstyle into such a sleek statement? What’s more, the bun emphasises her brown-bronze smokey eye and glowing skin, which was thanks to hints of highlighter in all the right places.

Newcomer Eiza Gonzalez was a picture of sunny perfection with her soft, tousled waves and bright orange lip, which totally complemented her mustard yellow dress. The “Baby Driver” actress and Oscars presenter gave us so many summer feels.

Singer Andra Day provided an alternative for flower crowns by adding tiny roses in her updo to play up the floral theme in her gown. She balanced her beauty look out with sculpted cheeks and winged dusty rose eyeshadow and lipstick.

Lupita Nyong'o stunned in a striking cobalt blue smokey eye and bronze lip. Plus, the “Black Panther” star known for her luminous complexion looked like a golden goddess with a pompadour laced with gold wire to complement her dress.

Now here’s a slick and sharp 70s look to bookmark. First of all, there’s Emma Stone’s strawberry blonde lob. Then there are the rosy pinks on the eyes and cheeks, the perfect contrast for her ruby power jacket.

Danai Gurira’s signature buzzcut proved to be a beautiful canvas for a surprising bit of intricate hair art by Vernon Scott. We also fawned over the “Black Panther” star’s deep berry lip colour, sculpted, thick lashes and glowy cheekbones.

Ashley Judd  always looks so pretty, especially here with glowing skin and a smokey eye. However, it’s the 49-year-old Time’s up pioneer and actress’s metallic orchid lipstick to match her royal purple dress that has us in a tizzy. Plus, don’t get us started on the lustrous chestnut brown hair.

Sandra Bullock looked incredible with her charcoal-coloured eyeshadow, proving a sultry smokey eye is for all ages. The Oscar-winning actress and upcoming star of “Ocean's 8” also showed gave us fluffy brows envy and  as usual, we wanted to know how to get that ultra sleek straight hair.

With that swipe of deep plum lipstick, Salma Hayek found a gorgeous contrast to her lilac dress. We also found a picture to take to the hairstylist with those braided details and loose tendrils on both sides of her head.

Thanks for providing us with the combination we want to steal for our next big night out, Taraji P. Henson.  How great does silver metallic eyeshadow look paired with a plum lip? Then, of course there’s the “Empire” star's sleek and slightly asymmetrical lob.

Jennifer Garner amped up the glamour with an ode to old Hollywood with a side-swept wavy blowout, which proved why classics never die. The presenter, who became a viral Oscars meme,  also stunned thanks to the shimmery blue eyeshadow traced along her lower lash line to match her dress.

We can’t stop scrolling back to Kelly Marie Tran’s gorgeous plaited updo, It’s simple and pretty, what’s more the creative twists would look perfect on the “Star Wars” set. We also loved the breakout star’s perfect brows.

Zoey Deutch gave the standard old Hollywood look, elegant waves and a deep red lip, a modern twist with the addition of a statement eye look. By sweeping burgundy eyeshadow above and under her eyes, there was a lovely surprise element.

This is such a fun disco-inspired look from Viola Davis. She blessed us with slicked back hair with a sleek centre parting at the top and loose spiral curls at the bottom. Additionally, the “How to Get Away With Murder” star’s eyes popped thanks to the purple metallic eyeshadow and dramatic spikey false eyelashes.
