Glamour and Advocacy: Celebrities Shine in Arab Designs and Gaza Ceasefire Pins at Oscars Red Carpet

Hollywood's most prominent celebrities graced the red carpet at the Dolby Theatre for the Oscars on Sunday night, showcasing a variety of stunning ensembles crafted by Arab designers. Amidst the glamour, a handful of attendees made a bold statement by donning pins advocating for a ceasefire amidst the ongoing conflict in Gaza.

Content creator Ashley Yi graced the Academy Awards in a striking all-white gown by Saudi label Waad Aloqaili, embellished with a playful ruffled wraparound detail. US model Molly Sims dazzled in a pink Georges Chakra dress from the designer's Spring/Summer 2024 Couture line.

Maitreyi Ramakeishnan, known for her role in "Never Have I Ever," opted for a chic Spring/Summer 2024 ready-to-wear attire by Lebanese designer Zuhair Murad, featuring a monochromatic color scheme. Similarly, Marvel star Danai Gurira wore a captivating coral gown from Murad's collection at the Vanity Fair After-Party, complemented by matching semi-sheer opera gloves.

Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas O'Connell wore red Artists4Ceasefire pins.

The red carpet, often a platform for political expression, saw several nominees, including Billie Eilish and Ramy Youssef, adorned with red Artists4Ceasefire pins in solidarity with the call for de-escalation in Gaza and Israel. Additionally, Swann Arlaud and Milo Machado-Graner sported pins featuring the Palestinian flag.

Fashion statements continued with German actress Sandra Hueller stunning in a black Schiaparelli gown with a bold sculptural neckline, while Colman Domingo exuded elegance in a double-breasted Louis Vuitton tuxedo adorned with ornate silver buttons and jewelry.
