Wadi Safar Project Unveiling in Diriyah: A Strategic Alignment with Vision 2030 Objectives

The Diriyah Gate Development Authority (DGDA) unveiled the Wadi Safar project during the Bashayer event, a significant step in aligning with Saudi Arabia's transformative Vision 2030. The announcement, attended by distinguished guests, introduced the Wadi Safar gated community, poised to emerge as an urban oasis within Riyadh. The community will feature three major resorts: Six Senses, Aman, and Oberoi.

The CEO of DGDA, Jerry Inzerillo, emphasized the outstanding quality of these resorts and the fact that they will be opening in the upcoming years. He acknowledged the important role played by Greg Norman, CEO of LIV Golf, in the creation of a 27-hole championship golf course, a visionary initiative supported by His Excellency Yasir Al-Rumayyan, the governor of Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund. Additionally, the event featured an exhibit by Argentine Polo player Nacho Figueras, commemorating the launching ceremony for the Royal Diriyah Equestrian and Polo Club.

In keeping with Vision 2030's objective to position Saudi Arabia as a global travel destination, DGDA has pioneered the successful fusion of sustainable projects and cultural preservation, as demonstrated by the success of Al-Bujairi Terrace, a popular tourist attraction since its debut.

Six Senses Southern Dunes, paying tribute to Nabataean architectural heritage, was the first hotel to operate at the Red Sea project. Neil Jacobs, CEO of Six Senses, emphasized the importance of contextual design, ensuring guests feel connected to the local culture and history. With plans to open four resorts in Saudi, Six Senses is part of the diverse hospitality offering, which includes renowned brands like Ritz-Carlton, Rosewood, and Aman.

DGDA's commitment extends to exceptional recreational and cultural venues, such as the Royal Diriyah Golf Club and the Royal Diriyah Equestrian and Polo Club. Argentine Polo player Figueras expressed enthusiasm for the equestrian activities and the deep connection between the Arab community and horses.

The Bashayer event serves as a platform to explore the comprehensive plans for Wadi Safar and Diriyah, encompassing hotels, restaurants, museums, galleries, and marking a major turning point as DGDA enters the second phase of unique experiences in hospitality, culture, art, entertainment, and sports. As the "birthplace of the nation" and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Diriyah is not only rich in history but also a source of pride for Saudi Arabia.
