This weekend, from October 5 to 6, Freaks of Nature, Saudi Arabia's electronic music festival, is making a comeback in Riyadh. The two-day festival, which is being put on by the Saudi creative agency Disrupt, will feature international performers like the Grammy-nominated DJ and electronic music artist Nic Fanciulli, the Belgian DJ and record producer Lost Frequencies, the techno house legends Agents of Time, and the Danish DJ Morten.
The festival's CEO, Yazeed Al-Hashim, also the chief disruption officer at Disrupt Group, portrayed the event as an immersive and exciting experience. It promises great music, a unique atmosphere, and captivating visuals, aiming to create a groundbreaking entertainment concept with global appeal.
Freaks of Nature will also feature the talents of several Saudi and regional artists, including DJ Mubarak, Aziz.wav, KALI-B, Hamza Hawsawi, and Timba JD.
When Al-Hashim first started the festival, he wanted to give DJs and musicians like himself a place to share their music with a broader audience. He emphasized that Freaks of Nature was born out of a desire to offer local artists the opportunity to perform on grand stages with exceptional production quality. This includes marketing and branding support for all participating artists, even those who are new to performing in front of a live audience. This comprehensive approach not only raises the artists' profiles but also provides them with material to post online.
In addition to the Riyadh event, Freaks of Nature is set to take place in Amsterdam on October 22nd. While the Riyadh event is their signature and main event, Al-Hashim noted that their presence in Europe serves as a platform to showcase the brand to the global music community.
The Amsterdam Dance Event is the world's largest music conference and festival, where the entire city transforms into a music celebration and industry professionals from around the world gather to conduct their business for the year. Al-Hashim emphasized the importance of showcasing the Saudi entertainment scene and local artists to the international music community during this event. At the Amsterdam festival, six local musicians will have the chance to share the stage with international artists for consecutively shows, expanding their visibility and relationships throughout the world.
