Manga Productions Releases 'Smurfs Kart' Game To The MENA Region

Manga Productions, an entity operating under the umbrella of the Mohammed bin Salman Foundation, also recognized as Misk, has entered into a contractual arrangement with Microids, resulting in the publication and distribution of the upcoming video game titled "Smurfs Kart."

This contract gives Manga Productions complete permission to publish and market the new game, which draws inspiration from the well-known "Smurfs" series, throughout the MENA region. Tailored to cater to the Arab audience, Manga Productions will infuse the game with localized content created by Saudi talents, aiming to enrich the gaming experience within the Arab world. "Smurfs Kart" is slated for release on August 22 and will be accessible across multiple gaming platforms, including PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PCs.

The gameplay of "Smurfs Kart" offers players an immersive racing experience, boasting impressive visuals and an interactive virtual environment. The game can be played by one player, up to four players collaboratively or competitively, and it offers a variety of items and equipment to give players an advantage during races. Players are granted the option to select their preferred characters, each endowed with unique abilities and skills, and opt for their desired racing car. The game features a diverse range of 12 tracks set in the expansive world of the Smurfs, encompassing locations such as the village, the forest, the dam, and the swamps.

Manga Productions' CEO, Essam Bukhary, is excited about partnering with Microids. He emphasized the innovative Smurfs game's positive impact on Arab gaming, aiming to adapt global content with Saudi talent.

Microids CEO Stephane Longeard is enthusiastic about delivering top-notch content that resonates globally. This aligns with their values, and he anticipates expanding "Smurfs Kart" in MENA through Manga Productions, fostering unique gaming experiences in a fruitful partnership.

The partnership of Manga Productions and Microids is especially significant, coinciding with the Smurfs franchise's 65th anniversary. Launched in 1958 by Belgian artist Pierre Culliford, the franchise gained global recognition. Its 1981 animated TV series, broadcast in 30 languages with 272 episodes, further boosted its popularity. This collaboration stands as a milestone in the enduring Smurfs legacy.
