‘Twilly D’ Hermès’: Fun, Individual & A Little Bit Cheeky

Recently launched in Beirut, the new scent from HERMÈS is perfect for the young and the young at heart who believe in freedom.

The HERMÈS boutique in Downtown Beirut was buzzing with members of the media, high profile social influencers and art aficionados being introduced to “Twilly d’Hermès.” Described as the scent of the HERMÈS girls, it is the latest feminine scent from the prestigious Parisian maison.

The daring fragrance by HERMÈS perfumer Christine Nagel is linked to the “Twilly,” the brand’s famous long, thin silk scarf with colourful prints. More to the point, it’s inspired by the freedom and creativity young women display when wearing the scarves as headbands, belts, neck scarves and all sorts of ways. “It was with young women in mind, by observing their lives, that I created “Twilly d’Hermès.” Free, bold, connected, mischievous and irreverent, they turn expectation on its head, swim against the tide, impose their own rhythm, invent a brand new tempo," the Italian-Swiss in-house perfumer said.

Woven with striking ginger, sensual tuberose and tender, milky sandalwood, the scent has floral, spicy and oriental touches. Combined differently, the three classic ingredients in the soft, youthful fragrance ooze a disconcerting attraction. And just like the “Twilly” scarf, you choose how to wear it.

The bottle evokes images of a carriage lantern that looks like it’s cut in half, while the cap looks like a black bowler hat. The neck is wrapped with a “Twilly” like spaghetti strand of patterned silk, which of course the guests had lots of fun repurposing.
