Italian luxury goods and high fashion brand house Bottega Veneta once again lent their support to the Hammer Museum’s annual gala, which took place on October 14. It is the fifth year the brand known for its intracciato or woven leather has helped back the event, which is a highlight of the Los Angeles cultural calendar.

Hammer Museum’s Gala in the Garden honours the artists, innovators, and icons who have made weighty contributions to society through their work. This year, the gala, which was co-chaired by a number of people including Bottega Veneta’s Creative Director Tomas Maier and Jessica Lange, was in honour of director Ava DuVernay. Pulitzer prize-winning writer and critic Hilton Als also received a tribute.

The worlds of fashion, film and art converged at the soiree, which was capped with a performance by Californian indie-pop trio Haim. Celebrities mingled with renowned art-related stars like Mark Bradford, Barbara Kruger and Frank Gehry during a delicious dinner by Chef Suzanne Goin. They also had a look at the museum’s current exhibition, ‘Radical Women: Latin American Art, 1960-1985.’
