Famed catwalker Gigi Hadid took to Instagram earlier this month to announce to her over 36 million followers her latest endeavor – the Gigi Hadid x Maybelline Jetsetter Palette, a collection of makeup must-haves by yours truly. The news was also announced on Maybelline’s Instagram page. Hadid joins the likes of Rihanna, Kim Kardashian West, Kendall Jenner, and Eva Mendes, female celebrities with celebrated makeup lines.
Debuting in the UK, her first collection hit the shelves at Boots and sold out in a record 90 minutes. Jetsetter is truly reflective of Hadid’s effortless beauty. Its simple, sleek, ultra chic packaging, as well and playful colors, carry that California girl aesthetic Hadid is known for, and it has all the beauty essentials you need for, well, jetsetting around the world a la international model style.
In a post to her fans on Instagram, Hadid shared the inspiration behind her line, saying, "I always wanted a palette that I could throw right in my purse or travel bag and know I have everything to do a light-everyday look, quickly and easily. I didn't want to have to open my makeup bag in the car or on a plane and take all the products out and worry about dropping anything or having somewhere to set it while I held my mirror. The Jetsetter Palette includes contour powder/bronzer, blush, powder highlight, concealer, lip gloss, eye shadow, black powder liner, a mini mascara, mini blush/contour and liner/eyeshadow [sic] brushes AND a mirror"
The 22-year-old Palestinian-American model has been the face of Maybelline since 2015. And although this is her first time creating her own thing in the world of beauty, Hadid often lends her design talents to major brands. She just recently collaborated with Tommy Hilfiger on its Fall 2017 collection, her third consecutive season on with the label.
She has also previously joined forces with Vogue Eyewear, becoming Vogue Arabia’s newest brand ambassador; with French jeweler Messika, creating a dazzling collection of white gold and diamond link pieces in celebration of the brand’s 10th anniversary; with Reebok as the face of #PerfectNever, which encourages women to celebrate their imperfections and reject the impossible standard of perfection; and with footwear brand Stuart Weitzman, together creating a pair of hiking boot-inspired heels.
