With its “Travel. Explore. Encounter.” slogan, the Saudi-based magazine will open the door for travellers to discover new destinations and experiences in the Kingdom and beyond through the world of arts and culture, adventure, events, cuisine, and more.
“LIST will tell the stories of Saudi Arabia, the region and the world—full of everything a travel magazine should have: the best writing, the best photography, the best things to see, do, eat and experience,” said Jomana R. Al Rashid, SRMG CEO, in a press release.
“But more than that, it is full of the stories of people that make places special.” Its first edition, The Launch Issue, is an invitation to discover travel and culture through Saudi eyes. It features everything from dreamy staycations and a guide to Abha to an insider look at the Saudi art scene and a cyclist's adventure through the Kingdom.
The magazine is the latest facet of Saudi Arabia’s booming travel, tourism, and entertainment industry, a priority sector under the country’s Vision 2030 economic diversification initiative.
In the past five years, Saudi Arabia has seen major growth within the hospitality and tourism fields. According to Minister of Tourism Ahmed Al-Khateeb, 93.5 million foreign and foreign tourists travelled to and within KSA in 2022.
“The direct contribution of the tourism sector to the GDP reached 3.2 percent,” he said at the Al-Ahsa Economic Forum earlier this year. As tourism and travel continue to trend in the Kingdom, List Magazine aims to enable travellers to see destinations through a new lens. Al Rashid says the magazine will be “the ultimate guide to discovering the very best of what Saudi Arabia and the world has to offer.”
