Sheikha Fatima bint Hazza Honored With Arab Woman Award In London

Sheikha Fatima bint Hazza, a true icon of female empowerment and philanthropy, has been honored with the Arab Woman Award in the culture category at a prestigious ceremony held in London on Tuesday, 21st March 2023.

As the chairwoman of the board of directors of the Fatima bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy and the Fatima bint Hazza Cultural Foundation, Sheikha Fatima has been a pioneer in uplifting women and supporting culturally relevant initiatives, particularly in the fields of arts and sports.

The Arab London Foundation praised Sheikha Fatima’s dedication to her role, acknowledging her tireless efforts to enhance the role of women in various fields. She is committed to supporting women in sports and the arts, and has received the Achievement Award in Cultural Development in recognition of her efforts.

Apart from her contribution towards female empowerment, Sheikha Fatima has also been involved in philanthropy, contributing towards enriching young people’s focus on areas such as art, literature, sustainability, and community interaction. Recently, the Fatima bint Hazza Cultural Foundation launched a series of short stories for young people that focus on culture, local identity, and sustainability.

Sheikha Fatima has achieved numerous milestones in philanthropy, improving access to education in Bangladesh, building schools in Kenya, and establishing the Fatima bint Hazza Fund for Emirati women to enable them to pursue higher education abroad. She is being hailed as a champion for Arab women, and her philanthropic initiatives have touched the lives of countless people, both women and youth.

After receiving her award at the eighth edition of the annual Arab Women Awards, Sheikha Fatima praised the Emirati leaders for their efforts towards encouraging women in pursuing their dreams. She added that “effective participation and making progress and positive change are the core values that we have been raised on. I am proud to represent my country, the UAE, where women have not had to struggle to obtain their rights but have always been at the forefront since the establishment of the state.”
