Alicia Keys' Visit To AlUla Was More Than Just A Concert

Alicia Keys, a 15-time Grammy winner, performed a concert at the stunning Maraya in AlUla on Friday. She also hosted the second annual Women to Women discussion on Saturday, featuring a sit-down discussion and an opportunity for Saudi women to share their experiences and ideas. Princess Reema bint Bandar, who attended last year’s event, was unable to attend but sent her best wishes for its success. This year’s Women to Women event was held at Wadi Ashar in Alula and focused on empowering women in Saudi Arabia. Speakers shared their legacies and wisdom with the aim of inspiring and mentoring women, encouraging their collective growth and a future-forward mindset.

Moderator Hala Al-Hedaithy was joined by Rasha Alkhamis, Saudi Arabia’s first female boxer, Mashael Alobeidan, a professional rally driver, Nada Altuwaijri, a journalist and founder of arts and entertainment factory MERWAS, and Hafsa Alkhudairi, a writer and arts and culture initiatives lead at the Royal Commission for AlUla.

Nora Aldabal, executive director of arts and creative industries at the Royal Commission for AlUla, will deliver the closing remarks at the Women to Women event.

Keys said she feels right at home in AlUla and loves the connection she feels with nature, humanity, the past, and the future. Her newly launched lifestyle beauty brand, “Keys Soulcare,” was available at the women-owned Base and Boon x AURA salon and spa at Al-Jadidah in AlUla.
