Registration for SRMG Academy's Journalism Boot Camp Is Underway

Registration for the SRMG Academy's renowned journalism boot camp is currently open and will remain so through February 18, 2023. The Saudi Research and Media Group established the SRMG Academy in December of last year as its editorial training division.

The goal of the SRMG Academy Boot Camp is to provide participants with a springboard for developing a career in the sector by giving them the tools necessary to succeed in the media industry of today. Along with diverse story forms including mobile journalism, podcasting, and broadcast journalism, the course will cover essential skills like writing, editing, and beat reporting.

Participants in the program's initial iteration must be Saudi Arabian citizens and must have either just graduated from college or a maximum of two years of professional experience.

The six-month program, which begins on April 30 in Riyadh, aims to identify new media talents and foster the growth of aspiring journalists in Saudi Arabia and abroad.

The SRMG Academy Boot Camp provides 20 participants with practical classroom instruction and the chance to gain work experience at some of SRMG's most prestigious publications. World-class Arab and international journalists with background in regional and worldwide news organizations are in charge of the demanding program. A few of the top journalists from SRMG will also provide seminars.

Alaa Shahine Salha, managing director of SRMG Academy, remarked to Arab News that participating in this special program is the best approach he can think of to start a career in journalism in Saudi Arabia and the Arab world. The program would present the trainees with fresh obstacles every day, he continued. The students will be required to make swift choices about how to respond to real-life circumstances that journalists encounter.

The SRMG publications will extend employment offers to the top trainees. The decision will be made based on both the candidate's talent and the business's requirements. The Saudi Research and Media Group, owns more than 30 prestigious publications and platforms throughout the Middle East and North Africa, including the Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper, Asharq News, and Independent Arabia.
