La Table’s Unique Philosophy Introduces A New Dining Experience Every Month

Chef Hattem Mattar leads the helm of the region’s first pop-up kitchen concept

La Table introduces the region’s first restaurant of its kind with a chefs’ pop-up kitchen concept at the Gate Village in DIFC. Every three months La Table will welcome a new chef, menu, and décor for an instant refresh and surprise element at their location. This licensed unique dining concept is built around the heart of change while delving deep into the universe and ethos of each Chef.

The first season of La Table presents a food popup with balmy breezy outdoorsy farmesque vibes with a splash of modern for the first décor look, complete with lots of open space and light wood furnishings, and touches of greenery. It is set to become the ultimate laidback street food concept of easy but flavourful food served fast in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere during the day before switching over to welcome the night. With a space to only fit 50 people, it is a perfect location for the after-work happy hour to wind down in the middle of DIFC and literally “come as you are” to enjoy a delicious and fairly priced food and drinks menu including cocktails, mocktails, wines, beers, and spirits.

The food and décor are built around the philosophy of each chef, with a focus on their character, story, and the inspiration behind all their creations. Each of the selected chefs are known for certain special qualities in their food journey and passion to create and build a name, a brand, or a cuisine. Not only are they recognized internationally, and have been invited to host for three months, but they live, breathe and bask in food and storytelling. They know food, its essence, source, and how it can set a mood or shift a perspective, and the upcoming list of chefs is anything but routine.

Renowned for his infamous brisket of global recognition and “the world's first Arab pitmaster”, Chef Hattem Mattar will be leading the helm of La Table for the first three months. His grills need no introduction, and neither does The Mattar Farm Smokehouse, Dubai’s first and only artisan smokehouse.

Chef Mattar said: “To be chosen as the first chef to launch a concept that is the first of its kind in the region and globally is a great honour. La Table is very interesting to me; to get people in DIFC that are in very high pressure, high paced, corporate environments to come take a load off, relax, come hang out in our backyard; let's be friends. Have a delicious sandwich, get back to work, and be really great at what you do because you felt taken care of for lunch or for dinner, or you've had a really hard day at work and now La Table is a place for you.

People love to be surprised and as much as they say they are creatures of habit, it’s always okay to play with your ideas and food and break away from the more traditional restaurant type of aesthetic and menu. I am here to literally fuel the culinary fire for the next three months and there are only exciting things ahead at La Table and on this menu.”

La Table De Mattar’s menu will include his most sought-after Sandwiches, such as the Brisket and the Brisket Grilled Cheese to the Pastrami On Rye and the Pastrami Rueben and Tri Tip Sandwiches. The Specials include the Fries Poutine, the Chorizo Mac and Cheese, the Tri Tip Carpaccio, and many more. The sides are classics and not to be missed, Apple Coleslaw, Potato Salad, and Sweet Potato Fries. Chef Mattar is geared up to serve a variety of mouthwatering street food in one of Dubai’s most elegant locations at DIFC’s Gate Village, and all are welcome to stop by and enjoy.
