Saudi Academic Ghadah W. Al Harthi Receives Rawabi Holding Award

For her contribution to encouraging and bridging the gap between Saudi and British culture, Ghadah W. Al Harthi has received the Rawabi Holding Award.

She was presented with the award by chairman of Rawabi Holding, Abdulaziz Al Turki at the ceremony, which was held in the presence of Prince Khalid bin Bandar, Saudi ambassador to the UK.

Al Harthi was awarded in London, where she works as a senior cultural consultant “delivering research, strategy and content curation to consultancies in the UK with projects in the Gulf countries.” Moreover, she is a senior lecturer and associate director of the MA Innovation Management at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London, as well as a young adviser at Chatham House and a member of the Next Generation Committee.

Accomplished in academia and her career, Al Harthi has spent the past decade partnering up and establishing relationships with important arts and cultural institutions both within the UK and the Gulf region. Her goal is to bridge the gap between communities, encourage cultural exchange and improve communications between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the UK taking part in international events, her work and research.

Accepting the award, Ghadah stated she felt privileged “to have been able to strengthen cultural relations and to lead on major projects and research, with talented teams and academics here in London.” She also expressed her plans for the future of her role, adding, “I’m starting a London-based cultural initiative, which will aim to further continue my contributions to promoting cultural dialogue between the East and the West.”
