The General Entertainment Authority has announced that the Cirque du Soleil "OVO" touring production will be held in Riyadh, so be prepared, for things are about to get creepy-crawly!
OVO by Cirque du Soleil had its debut in 2009 in Montreal, Canada, and has since traveled the globe. The spectacle, which boasts 52 artists and breathtaking aerial feats accompanied by South American music, has been witnessed by seven million people in 26 countries. The Portuguese word "ovo," which means "egg," alludes to the program's insect-themed title. The spectacular show centers on a tale of a colorful colony of insects that are disturbed by the appearance of an odd monster within a mystery egg. The show provides a shocking view into the beauty of biodiversity in all its forms, with dancers playing the part of the insects. Amazing ants, powerful spiders, vibrant crickets, and brilliant dragons are just a few of the performers in this one-of-a-kind circus show.
The show will run from Wednesday October 12 to Saturday December 3 with performances happening five times a week at Princess Nourah Bint Abdul Rahman University Grandstand. It will begin at 8pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and at 4pm on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, with the spectacle running for 100 minutes, including a 25-minute intermission.
