Blast From The Past: Retro Skating Disco Opens in AlUla

AlUla on wheels? Let's roll.

Will you ever be able to say that you have skated in a retro disco in an ancient historical site? Well now you can. The events and happening in Saudi Arabia never fail to disappoint to provide an experience like no other, and this time we’re going straight to the magical AlUla.

AlUla on Wheels is an event that has started this week and will continue until the 22nd of October. You will be able to roller skate under the starry sky of AlUla, while being surrounded by magnificent millennia of history. The concept of the event promises to give people an “old school blast from the past” with a skating arena from the 80s, and provide some feel-good nostalgia. The food is inspired by retro treats from that time, the design of the place will also give an ode to the raging 1980s, and the music will keep rolling all night long.

The additional cool thing about this event is that is it completely free. You can enter and just hang out with your friends, listen to the music, and enjoy the delicious food from the curated food trucks that will be present on the premises. However, if you wish to skate, you will need to pay a fee for that.

Even though the event is going on all throughout the weeks, the organizers have set up parties on Thursday and Friday where special DJs will be invited to play hits curated by Swizz Beatz. On weekdays, the event will start at 7 PM until midnight, and on weekend will go on until 9 PM or 10 PM, depending on the event you choose.

The masterminds behind this event would be none other than Saudi creative Noor Taher and music producer, Swizz Beatz, otherwise known as the husband of the icon Alicia Keys.

We don’t know about you, but we are definitely hitting the skating area for next weekend. You can book your tickets here.
