Rihanna has finally launched her global make-up brand, Fenty Beauty. And after the beauty industry’s most anticipated liftoff, the new generation of beauty products, inspired by women of all skin colours, attitudes and cultures, is available for you in 1,600 stores across 17 countries.
The 29-year-old queen of music has confirmed she also has the Midas touch when it comes to creating a beauty line. Inspired by wanting to find different formulas that work across all skin types, as well as a universal lineup of shades that caters to women with hard-to-match skin tones, Rihanna partnered with Kendo Brands. And the result is a complexion-focused product assortment that works together and reflects the Barbadian beauty’s edgy yet feminine charm. “The Fenty Face was created for women of all skin tones, of all personalities. These steps are key to starting your make-up, no matter the look you’re going for. This is where the fun begins,” Rihanna, who looked gorgeous in a floor-sweeping yellow Oscar de la Renta two-piece ensemble at the September 7 midnight launch in Sephora, Times Square, says.
The Fenty Face
The highly-anticipated, cruelty-free line, which saw Rihanna get personally involved in each product, redefines the rules with light-as-air formulas that are perfect for layering, the secret to a radiant glow. The foundation alone comes in 40 different shades, with a good part devoted to darker skin tones. So with its medium coverage, soft matte finish and light and moisturising composition, the Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation has you covered, no matter your skin tone. Then for a strategically placed glow, the cream powder Kilawatt Freestyle Highlighter, which is silky and soft, lets you light up where you want. The hybrid product, which can be used on the face and eyes, comes in six unique colours, including the yellow gold “Trophy Wife.” The highlighter also comes in duos and gives you options for day and night. The songbird has also ensured you’ll be shine-free for your most Instagram-able moments with the Invisimatte Blotting Paper. The product allows you to blot on the fly, wherever and whenever, and there’s even a mirror that helps you pat down your T-zone perfectly.
Other products include two universal ones, the Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Primer and a lip gloss. The Gloss Bomb Universe Lip Luminizer, which is a vaguely shimmery nude that comes in a rose-brown shade, suits just about everyone and adds glamour to any look. Additionally, there are 30 Match Stix Skinsticks that come in matte and shimmer finishes to contour, correct, conceal, highlight and blush. They're magnetic, so you can buy a combo of your favourites, whether shades like “Chili Mango” (orangey) or “Unicorn” (lavender) and click them together for touch ups while you’re on-the-go. Plus, there are a variety of application tools, like foundation and highlighting brushes, that are just what you need for applying the amazing beauty products.
