Malala & Quen Rania To Attend The Clinton Global Initiative

This September, the Clinton Global Initiative will make a comeback, after having not been run for six years and HM Queen Rania of Jordan has been named as one of the international dignitaries that are a part of the event’s assembly. The Clinton Global Initiative was launched by former US president Bill Clinton, and is an event that looks to “promote cross-cultural dialogue.” This year’s theme is, ‘The Business of How’, and will focus on “action on climate, health equity, economic growth, the refugee crisis and more.”

HM Queen Rania of Jordan has orated at previous editions of the event, where she would highlight the issues faced mostly in the Middle East, including the Syrian refugee crisis in 2016, the Palestine-Israel conflict, and the war in Lebanon in 2006.

The Clinton Global Initiative is a 2 day event that will run from 19th-20th September 2022, and the Jordanian royal is likely to talk about the social and economic issues within the region on a global platform. Other important figures that will also be a part of the Clinton Global Initiative include Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai, activist and actor Matt Damon, Hamilton playwright Lin-Manuel Miranda, and renowned chef José Andrés.

“We called the CGI community back together this year because we face an urgent and historic moment. The global community is confronting several existential challenges, including climate change, new threats to our health, worsening economic inequalities, and a global refugee crisis,” said former president, Bill Clinton.
