Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have said “I do”, according to the music icon who announced it on her website.
Sources at TMZ have obtained court records confirming that on July 16th the couple filed for a marriage license in Clark County, NV. Page Six has also obtained a copy of the license showing that Benjamin Géza Affleck and Jennifer Lynn Lopez are indeed husband and wife. People Magazine reported that in a newsletter from Lopez she stated "We did it. Love is beautiful. Love is kind. And it turns out love is patient. Twenty years patient."
The fascinating duo, widely known as “Bennifer,” got back together last year after almost 20 years since their first relationship. Back in April this year, the couple announced their engagement via the singer’s namesake website “OnTheJLo.com” where she gave us our first glimpse of her beautiful green diamond ring. Since then speculations have been flying about as to when and where will they tie the knot. The couple reportedly wanted to get married "soon" and despite once saying they were in no rush to share their nuptials, it seems that Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez finally sealed the deal this past Saturday in an intimate wedding in Las Vegas. Lopez shared a photo of the morning after on social media in a bed and wearing a silver wedding ring.
Affleck first gave Lopez a large pink diamond engagement ring in 2002 but they unfortunately abruptly called off their wedding in 2003 due to pressure from the media and eventually parted ways. Lopez married musical artist Marc Anthony with whom she had twins, Emme and Maximilian. Affleck married actress Jennifer Garner, with whom he shares three children, Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel. Both marriages ended in divorce.
Ben and Jen reunited in early 2021 soon after Lopez split from baseball giant Alex Rodriguez. The two have been inseparable ever since. Aiming for a blended family, they have been spotted house hunting within the last few months. They seem to have settled on an estate in Beverly Hills previously owned by Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman. Their reunion has been avidly soaked up as a juicy piece of celebrity gossip the likes of which we have been starved of for two years.
Their love story truly seems to be the plot of a romantic comedy movie whereby two people meet, part ways only to ultimately realize their love for one another and reunite in a gorgeous embrace. According to Harpers Bazaar “after months of Covid-related misery, it feels blissful to revel in such a sweet and improbable love story.” And we couldn't agree more.
