This Beauty Box Is Helping Women In MENA Gain Business Expertise

L’Occitane and their CSR brand ambassador Karen Wazen are highlighting women’s empowerment, a key pillar to the brand.

Successful entrepreneur and social media influencer Karen Wazen has joined forces with L’Occitane En Provence to launch a regional beauty box dedicated women’s empowerment, one of the French luxury brand’s six commitments. The proceeds from the collaboration with the Lebanese go-getter behind Karen Wazen Eyewear will be donated to foundations that support funding and training for women across the Middle East.

“I am so proud to be working and representing a brand with a purpose such as L’Occitane. This collaboration speaks to every woman, to remind every woman that she is enough. As a woman myself and a mother of two daughters I believe that we all play an important role in empowering each other. We are limitless and stronger together,” the Dubai-based Wazen said.

A large obstacle for female entrepreneurs in the region is the lack of business experience or knowledge in certain areas, preventing them from effectively running and growing their businesses. This collaboration is dedicated towards the funding of three to four workshops for businesswomen in the region. The aim is to focus on women with economically challenged backgrounds and those who lack access to training and funding, predominantly originating from countries like Lebanon and Jordan.

The main objective of these workshops is to give the participants the opportunity and support to increase their knowledge on financial independence and kickstart their business know-how. The workshops also cover practical information that will be beneficial and insightful for women while assembling the steppingstones to their own business journeys.

Wazen, who has over 7 million followers on Instagram, was selected as the brand’s CSR ambassador for the year 2021-2022 as an inspiring figure. Known for her raw and natural outlook, she has encouraged the women’s empowerment movement by breaking stereotypes for Arab women and paving the way to the younger generation.
