This Book Is Full Of Deliciously Clever Food Puns

Marie Saba has picked the best of the bunch and put them all in in one family-friendly book!

Who doesn’t love a good food pun? Whether it’s one about fruits, vegetables, or any food staple, they are unbe-leaf-ably funny. In time for a good giggle this National Pun Day (May 15) social media sensation and cookbook author Maria Saba has compiled 101 of her favouite food puns into a new beautifully photographed, entertaining book called “Don’t Worry Be Ha-PEA: 101 Deliciously Clever Food Puns.” Whether you want to share it with the family, get a foodie date to chuckle or just want to dig into the pun-filled pages yourself, the coffee-table book is the perfect gift for anyone who appreciates good food and clever wordplay.

Entertaining and light-hearted, Saba’s quirky puns aim to inspire creative thinking, connection and laughter that will leave readers craving more. Saba, who is also. behind “What My Mother Made,” a collection of stories celebrating a mother’s cooking, brings food to life in this compilation of quirky, creative and inspirational food puns.

It tests the reader’s knowledge of pop culture (think Celine Dijon and Robert Brownie, Jr.), tourist attractions (St. Peter's Basilica), cartoon characters (Elmer Fudge) and much more. Saba’s tasty visual puzzles really are as intriguing as they are appetizing.

“’Don’t Worry, Be Ha-PEA’ reminds us all that we can find humour in the most unlikely of places — the back of the pantry or the bottom of the veggie drawer,” the self-taught chef said. “It’s just the book we need right now.”

A freelance content creator as well, Saba has already caught the attention of Molly B. Sims, Reese Witherspoon, Drew Barrymore and many more on Instagram thanks to her posts featuring witty and whimsical food puns. The former lawyer’s playful creations have been featured in “Bon Appétit,” “Food & Wine” and numerous other publications. Her work has also appeared on the “The Rachel Ray Show” and “Martha Stewart Show.” The mother-of-two, who lives in Austin, Texas, was recently named by “Country Living” Magazine as one of the top 100 creative people in the US.
