The Museum of the Moon Returns to Dubai this May

Ever wanted to see the moon up close without leaving Earth? Now you can! On April 29, the Museum of the Moon will make a return to Dubai, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and will be available to visitors till May 8. It will be part of the upcoming OliOli over Eid Al Fitr which, as the name implies, will also be open during the Muslim holiday.

Museum of the Moon is an inflatable replica of the moon measuring 7 meters in diameter. The exhibit is a touring network by an award-winning British installation artist, Luke Jerram, who is well-known for his artistic visions such as live arts, sculptures, and more. In addition, the centerpiece is complemented with lighting effects that mimic those of the real moon, as well as surround sound composition created by BAFTA and Ivor Novello award winning composer, Dan Jones.

In fact, it first made its debut in 2016 and has since been featured in major cities including London, Rotterdam, Hong Kong, Kolkata, and others. In 2017, it had its first Dubai showcasing at Souk Atrium. In collaboration with the Sheikh Mohammed Center for Cultural Understanding, the venue was transformed into a "cultural majilis" with visitors learning about Emirati culture and heritage.

For this year, the exhibit will be returning to Dubai as part of OliOli, a venue that is also offering family activities for a limited time. This includes the Air Gallery, Water Gallery, Future Park, and more. Furthermore, visitors will also be able to participate in a secret mission entitled "Mission OliOli," with each player, taking on the role of a spy, required to uncover a diabolical scheme and defeat the leader of an evil syndicate V.E.N.O.M. - Very Evil Network of Mischief.
