Aghareed Ehsan Abdul-Jawad, Board Member of Saudi Arabia's Asharqia Chamber

Aghareed Ehsan Abdul-Jawad is a powerhouse with an impressive career. She is the chairman of the board at Tamkean Real Estate Development Co., but she also has years of experience working with logistics, financing, and investments. If that wasn't impressive enough, she became the first woman to make history by being elected into the Asharqia Chamber board, Saudi Arabia's chamber of commerce and industry in the Eastern Province, in January 2022.

Abdul-Jawad grew up in a family where each sibling was given equal opportunity. Simultaneously, she looked up to her father as her role model in business who inspired her to earn success rather than just receiving it. In 2010, she graduated from Dhahran Ahliyya Schools and, in 2014, she obtained a bachelor of science (BS) in finance at Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd University. In addition, she obtained a diploma in the French language at Alliance Française d’Arabie Saoudite in 2018. Currently, she is a CFA Level III Candidate with certification expected in 2022.

In 2008, Abdul-Jawad would gain her first work experience via a summer internship at Globe Marine Services Co, a leading logistic company founded by her late grandfather in 1976. In May 2016, however, she would find herself working for the company full-time, initially taking the position of budgeting and planning manager before being promoted to supply chain director in November 2017. Since October 2020, she is the current financing and budgeting director at the company.

In addition, she is the financial controller at Abduljawad Holding Co., and chairman of the board at Tamkean Real Estate Development Co. She had also worked for other companies, including an internship at KPMG in 2013, and wealth management at Banque Saudi Fransi from September 2014 to October 2015. In January 2022, Abdul-Jawad was elected to the board of directors of Asharqia Chamber. She received the second highest number of votes totaling 5,026 votes, hence making her the first woman in the chamber's board of directors.

Via Twitter, she gave her thanks for the opportunity to be part of Asharqia Chamber's board of directors, saying, “You have been instrumental in opening a new phase through electing me as the first woman in the Asharqia Chamber board. We can continue to work to support the march of our beloved nation toward a bright future.”
