MANGO’s IWD Collection Profits Go To Education

Wear something from this collection made by and for women to help girls get the education they deserve…

International Women’s Day is an opportunity to recognise the achievements of women by supporting and shining the spotlight on their talent. And MANGO, a label that believes in the power of collaboration and female talent, has become known for focusing on celebrating the role of female creatives when the important day comes around. This year, the Barcelona-based brand has collaborated with Torin Ashtun and Leticia Sala for a special capsule collection that engages in creative dialogue and combines art with poetry. The profits from the collection will support four social organisations that promote girls’ rights to education in vulnerable countries.

To come up with the two cotton, round-necked women’s T-shirts with printed designs and the tote bag with double strap, which is also made of cotton and features an eye-catching print, the California-based artist Ashtun and Barcelona-based writer Sala worked exclusively online. They had to complete the impressive undertaking separately due to the physical distance between their respective residences and the ongoing pandemic. The duo has also created a men’s T-shirt, making it possible for members of the opposite sex to show their support. Whoever chooses to wear them, the pieces that pair Ashtun’s canvas with thought-provoking digital poetry by Sala echo a common voice: the power of women.

All profits obtained from the sale of this collection will be donated to four social establishments thanks to MANGO’s partnership with the Spanish NGDO Mundo Cooperante and its initiative “Being a girl is a right”. Welfare Association for Development Alternative in Bangladesh, India’s Jabala Action Research Organisation, Health and Rural Development Balochistan in Pakistan and Ethiopia’s Wabe Children’s Aid and Training will all be benefiting from the initiative.

For the campaign, MANGO, one of the world’s leading fashion groups, has also joined forces with the photographer and Art Director Carlota Guerrero. And the Spanish celebrity artist’s unique vision of femininity has created unmistakable, thought-provoking and powerful images for the occasion.
