The Décor

Touches from Oman’s rich heritage are evident from one’s first step into the palatial Al Husn, which means ‘Castle’ in Arabic. Designed to reference the historic architecture of Omani forts, guests automatically get engrossed in the courtyard design elements, arches, water features and palm trees.

Luban Spa – The Spa of Frankincense, the latest addition to Shangri-La Al Husn, Muscat’s wellness experiences, is the first of its kind in the Sultanate. Luban (Frankincense) is a precious resin originating in Oman from the Boswellia tree and is treasured over the world for its healing and beauty properties, as well as its warm and comforting essence. For thousands of years, Luban has been known as the gift of kings and has been as highly valued as gold. As such, Luban Spa offers a wide range of precious Omani Frankincense treatment rituals for the body and mind infused with warm Arabian hospitality.

Elegantly crafted local ingredients are sourced from around the Sultanate and they play an essential role during the guest journey, ranging from locally harvested pomegranates from the mountains, roses, date syrup and Omani honey.

Every afternoon guests are treated to a complimentary themed afternoon tea on the terrace of Sultanah, overlooking the mesmerising sea view of the adjacent Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah, Muscat. Addtitionally, at sunset, the central courtyard comes to life with the complimentary aperitif hour.
