Emirati Entrepreneur, Asma Hilal Lootah, Founder of The Hundred Wellness Center

From serving balanced nutritions via The 100 Café to offering Pilates and yoga, the Hundred Wellness Center is leading the way in personalized healthcare and wellness in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The Dubai-based establishment has garnered the attention of fellow healthcare enthusiasts, but also earned several awards and recognitions throughout the years. The Hundred is the brainchild of Asma Hilal Lootah having been inspired by her personal experience with Pilates in 2002.

Lootah was born and raised in the UAE where she studied before pursuing a higher education at George Washington University in the United States. Following her graduation in 2000, and moving back to the UAE, she would start her career by working at Etisalat for the next five years. However, Lootah has had a passion for wellness and discovering one's self, especially after doing Pilates with her sister. Hence, this would become her new line of work after resigning from Etisalat, and she would go on to launch The Hundred in 2008. Although starting off as a single studio for Pilates, it eventually grew to offer many more services such as nutrition, therapy, and more.

Of course, The Hundred and its founder would be recognized for their contributions to healthcare and wellness. In fact, Lootah was given the Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Award for Young Business Leaders in 2010, and Emirates Woman of the Year award in 2012. The Hundred was ranked 45th in Dubai's top 100 small and medium enterprises in 2011, and named the best health and fitness facility in the UAE by the Sports and Industry Awards.

In addition, Lootah would also share her experiences at several venues in the UAE. In 2016, the then Vice President of the United States, Joe Biden, was visiting the country when his wife, Mrs. Jill Biden, invited Lootah to share her experiences as a female entrepreneur at the School of Research Science in Dubai. In 2022, she also sat for an interview with Emirates Women discussing "The Confidence Issue," and what it takes to boost one's confidence.
