This Palestinian Female DJ Will Be Performing At Coachella This Year

Hailing from Ramallah in Palestine, Queen of the Palestinian techno scene, Sama’ Abdulhadi first emerged when she was caught in a video on YouTube in which was playing a techno set in 2018 – the video was viewed over 7.8 million times.

Since then, Abdulhadi is going from strength to strength as a DJ and is now in the line-up of must-know musical talents that will be performing at Coachella this April. It was in 2020 that Sama’ was on the list to be playing the international festival but due to covid, Coachella had to be postponed.

With the full line up having been announced, Sama’ Abdulhadi will be performing among the likes of Swedish House Mafia, Kanye West, Billie Eilish and Harry Styles as the main headliner. Playing on the same day as Billie Eilish, Sama’ is one of over 100 acts performing at the 3-day music festival. Others taking the stage on the same day include 21 Savage, Megan Thee Stallion, Current Joys, Dixon and many more.

Sama’ Abdulhadi is not just a talented DJ, but is the mind behind some of the most viewed techno sets on YouTube to date, and is fast becoming one of the most sought after Arab DJ’s in the world. She once told a publication that after her first techno set had been viewed in 2018 by millions, she went from getting 20 requests a month for her to play a gig, to 40 in one day.

Abdulhadi has gone on to play a number of international music festivals all over the globe including IMS, Nuits Sonores and Beyond the Valley, just to name a few!

The Arab DJ’s passion for music came as an escape from her surroundings and current political events in her country of Palestine, and has now been able to place Ramallah on the map when it comes to a thriving techno scene.
