The D&G Alta Moda Show Is Heading To AlUla In Saudi Arabia

The Alta Moda show, which has been presented in some of the most fascinating spots around the world, is making its way to one in Saudi….

AlUla will host Dolce & Gabbana's Alta Moda, Alta Sartoria and Alta Gioielleria collections on 27 January, as part of the AlUla Moments festival season. As well as the show, which is slated to be an uber stylish, one-of-a-kind affair, the Saudi Arabian city of heritage and culture will exhibit the much-anticipated collection in the famous Maraya. While in the world’s largest mirrored building, visitors will be able to examine all the handmade clothes, created with top fabrics and featuring exquisite artisanal work and endless details up close, from 28 to 31 January. They will also have the opportunity to tour exclusive spaces, meet the Italian luxury brand’s premiere and master tailors for private fittings and customise the matchless pieces from the collection.

The fashion show, the house's first in the Kingdom, will take place during the Ikmah Fashion Cavalry Show. The event is a special exhibition celebrating the extraordinary spirit and tradition of Arabian horses, famous all over the world for their unparalleled beauty and elegance. It will feature a full parade of 12 Arabian horses with custom, handmade horse accessories and clothing with an all-out Mediterranean essence. The exciting spectacle will be lighting up Jabal Ikmah, a mountain near the ancient city of Dadan, which is considered as one of AlUla’s key historical and archaeological sites. Once the capital of the ancient Dadanite and Lihyanite kingdoms, it is replete with ancient inscriptions and rock art.

Designed and produced by Balich Wonder Studio, the Ikmah Fashion Cavalry Show is part of Winter at Tantora, an important festival in the Kingdom celebrating heritage, culture and music. Ongoing until February 12, Winter at Tantora is the first festival of AlUla Moments, which includes AlUla Arts, AlUla Skyes and AlUla Wellness Festival.

Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana started presenting Alta Moda collections in 2012. A markedly Italian equivalent to French haute couture, the pieces are the ultimate way the Italian duo, who founded the house in 1985, can express their creativity. The shows, which have been held in cities like Venice, Mexico City and Florence, are also undoubtedly a celebration of Italian craftsmanship.
