Art World Creation Dubai Showcases Ahmet Güneştekin’s ‘Sand Flower’ At Opening Exhibit

The new gallery can be bookmarked as a go-to place to see one-of-a-kind, rousing pieces from Turkish and international artists.

Art World Creation (AWC) Dubai is the all-new culture hotspot in the emirate that’s ready to be explored. For its opening exhibit, the art gallery is presenting “Sand Flower,” featuring unique and inspiring artworks from Ahmet Güneştekin. The three-month exhibition by the internationally acclaimed Turkish artist will be on display at the gallery, situated in Dubai International Financial Centre’s Gate Avenue, until March 8, 2022.

The “Sand Flower” title comes from the desert rose, a complex formation of sand grains and crystal clusters. And the exhibition includes works that manifest the artist’s notion of this fragmented world, and they unearth his vision that there is a fractal face to the geometry of nature.

‘’I see my work as a dream that appears out of nowhere in a never-ending sand desert and then vanishes as it approaches”, Güneştekin said. “I am honoured to be exhibiting my latest pieces at AWC in the heart of Dubai, and I can’t wait to witness the reactions of regional art enthusiasts when they discover my work.”

Exhibited artworks include bronze sculptures with vibrant patterns and structures that appear over metamorphosed animals whose traces may be found in the mythical cosmos. There are also heart-shaped works in which Güneştekin incorporates language into imagery with its lexical and reflective features. Paintings that speak about the powerful mythic motifs in human life, the pattern of ending and renewal inviting the viewer to witness the emergence of an exquisite butterfly also make an appearance. In addition, visitors will find dimensional works focusing on the entire question of life and death and the naturalness and potentiality of both concepts in human life.

"We are beyond honoured and delighted to be a bridge between young Turkish artists and art lovers in the Middle East and we are excited to start our journey in Dubai, a city that is quickly becoming a highly acclaimed art and design hub for the region,’’ Anastasiya Lugovska, Gallery Manager at AWC Dubai, said.

Founded by CEO Haldun Kilit, AWC Dubai is set to hold group and solo exhibitions six times a year, aiming to bring Turkish and international artists together with regional art lovers.
