"Ana Arabia" Is Back in Saudi Arabia for Its Second Edition

"Ana Arabia" (which translates as "I Am an Arab") is returning for its second edition and will be part of the ongoing Riyadh Season in Saudi Arabia. The event will be held at Riyadh Front and is set to run from December 8-15, 2021. Under the theme "the dream that never ends," the seven-day exhibition will showcase designs by over 200 creative women from across the region, including dresses, accessories, jewelry, perfumes, and cosmetics.

“Ana Arabia” is a concept that focuses on Arab heritage and culture while creating stunning designs for the modern women. The exhibition is organized by the General Entertainment Authority (GEA) in line with the Kingdom's Vision 2030 economic goals. The previous edition was held in 2019, which received over 250 talented women from across the region. Prizes worth a total of SR700,000 were up for grabs. SR10,000 grand prize was given to the gem and fashion sector, while prizes amounting to SR500,000 were given to winners in the home accessories, gourmet, perfumes, and cosmetics sectors.

Saying that "Ana Arabia" was a success would be an understatement as it gave much needed exposure to Arab talents from across the region. It was said that over 4,000 applications were received on just the first day. Faisal Bafart, CEO of the GEA, stated that the exhibition would benefit development of the design sectors, innovation, and entrepreneurship. Speaking to Saudi Gazette, Dr. Wafa Al-Rasheed, CEO of Tamkeen Company, noted the event's economic contribution in developing the design sectors, in addition to proceeds being given to charity organizations.

In fact, three charities received proceeds at the exhibition: "Wajib," a charity for families of martyrs who fell on the line of duty, "Tarawuf," an orphans care society at Hafr Al-Batin region, and "Joud Charitable Women Society in Dammam."
