Discover the exciting lineup of activities and festivals for the upcoming season.
The Gulf is about to celebrate the upcoming winter where everyone wants to be outdoors as a respite from avoiding the sweltering heat of the summer sun. It’s a time to embrace nature, outdoor activities, taking leisurely walks, and so much more!
Al Ula has the next few months dedicated to arts, culture, music and wellness to indulge in and this year will be like no other.
Saudi Arabia’s most infamous heritage site has a long list of events – including a haute couture fashion show for horses – yes, you read that correctly, as well as other equestrian highlights including the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Endurance Race and Al Ula Desert Polo.
But that’s not all! The winter events will begin on 21st December 2021 and run until the end of March next year and each event will fall into four categories: Winter at Tantora, Al Ula Arts, Al Ula Skies, and the Al Ula Wellness Festival.
Not just arts and entertainment, visitors will gain knowledge about the history of the site and the country via cultural workshops that will happen in the heritage sites. The Al Ula Arts Festival will begin in February 2022, and will host several events around art. The “Art Of Our Time” exhibition explores the contemporary works of Saudi artists. Running alongside the festival, there will be an outdoor cinema, “Cinema El Housh,” which showcases Al Ula’s most wondrous landscapes, contributed by Saudi filmmakers.
The Al Ula Skies festival is a unique and exciting one as it invites visitors to float over the Hegra in a hot air balloon, take a ride in a vintage plane, and take a helicopter above the Madakheel. On the ground, astrology enthusiasts can indulge in a star-gazing tour titled “Constellations.”
And lastly, Al Ula Wellness Festival, which will run from March 17th-27th 2022, will focus on the well-being of the mind and body, including yoga, meditation, mindful practices.
