HH Sheikh Mohammed Unveils Two New Landmarks At The Expo 2020 Site

Expo 2020 Dubai is just less than a month away!

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai visited the Expo 2020 site to look at how it’s all coming along to prepare for its opening. Touring the premises and various pavilions, Sheikh Mohammed praised the organizations and employees who are behind the biggest cultural event the UAE has ever seen, to life. Especially since the pandemic pushed Dubai’s plans for Expo 2020 back by an entire year.

Dubai’s ruler was also informed of the final touches of the opening event that will take place and the number of prerequisites that will ensure the success of Expo 2020 in Dubai. In a statement, HH Sheikh Mohammed stated, “We look forward to receiving delegations from 191 countries as well as businesses, multilateral organizations and educational institutions, who will join in the making of a better tomorrow for humanity. Amid this critical phase in the history of mankind, Expo 2020 Dubai will provide a unique opportunity for the world to come together, exchange knowledge and develop innovative solutions for a better future. The world will soon meet in Dubai to discover new paths for progress and prosperity and shape a future that will enable communities to thrive and overcome various challenges.”

Upon his visit to the Expo 2020 site, the ruler of Dubai also unveiled two new landmarks; the Expo 2020 Water Feature and the Garden in the Sky observation tower, both of which will remain after the Expo comes to an end. The Expo 2020 Water Feature will have a tailor-made musical score by an award-winning composer while the Garden in the Sky observation tower, standing at a height of 55 meters, will offer a 360-degree view of the Expo’s attractions. His Highness also visited Al Wasl Plaza, Al Forsan Park, and the Expo 2020 Leadership Pavilion.

Expo 2020 begins officially on October 1st 2021, and closes on March 31st 2022 and has a theme of “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future as well as the subthemes of Opportunity, Mobility, and Sustainability.”
