Arab Designers Join SHEIN Platform

The highly desirable “SHEIN X” programme for young and emerging talents helps them grow their revenue streams, gain exposure and tap massive Gen Z audiences everywhere around the world.

Over 30 Arab designers have joined the SHEIN X programme, an initiative by global leading fashion retailer SHEIN. The innovative scheme, an extension of the successful Designer Incubator Programme, supports young, diverse creatives and designers. Launched in January, it takes participants through the whole process from the inception phase to sampling, production and distribution via the SHEIN website, which reaches over 100 million customers worldwide.

In celebration of the SHEIN X programme and the newly discovered designers, SHEIN is offering designers the chance to compete in its first-ever SHEIN X 100K Challenge. The contest with the “Be Bold, Be You” theme sees designers competing for a chance to be featured in the label’s autumn/winter 2021 fashion showcase and win $100,000.

One designer to enter the SHEIN X 100K$ Challenge is UAE-based Lina Mane, the force behind contemporary luxury label L’Mane. Mane, who combines tailored silhouettes, elaborate beadwork and customized fabrics, established L’Mane in 2015. And ever since the Indian-born creative with an experience in diverse global fashion capitals like Mumbai and Milan has been making waves and continuously evolving to meet market needs.

Another notable regional designer highlighting her unique and stylish identity is Saudi Arwa Al Rashed, who launched an exclusive collection called “SHEIN X RO7.” The arts and design professional started to express herself through digital art at the beginning of lockdown last year.

“It was a soul discovery and a journey,” Al Rashed, a Graphic Design & Digital Media graduate, says. “Be brave and express yourself, you are what you wear!”

The first round of SHEIN X, which was specifically developed to offset reoccurring infringement issues within the industry, provided seven emerging fashion designers and illustrators with the opportunity to partner with SHEIN and take their designs and brands to new and unexpected heights. After an ultra-impressive response from customers, while achieving much greater than expected sales for the collections, SHEIN is now continuing the programme indefinitely.

The programme is accepting up to 50 designers every month and you can click HERE to sign up!
