Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez Is Coming To The Region

Popstar and actress Selena Gomez’s cosmetics line, Rare Beauty, is coming to the Middle East. Announced on Instagram this week, Rare Beauty will stock across the Middle East, New Zealand, Australia and Europe this summer. The cosmetics line by the Latina beauty will be available at Sephora Middle East next to the likes of Huda Beauty and Fenty by Rihanna.

The Rare Beauty Instagram video announcement was captioned, “We’re going global y’all! It’s finally happening this summer, and we’re thankful to all our international community members for being so patient with us! Get excited, because Rare Beauty will be available this summer online and in-stores at the following @sephora locations below,” as the brand wrote a list of all the global Sephora retailers that will carry the line.

According to a survey conducted in 2019 by YouGov, Selena Gomez ranked in a list of Saudi Arabia’s most admired women, and talking about the launch of her own brand, she said in a separate Instagram video in September 2020 when she first launched her cosmetics line, “I am very excited to share that Rare Beauty will finally be available this summer. Our mission with Rare Beauty is to help everyone celebrate their individuality. We are all unique and that’s what makes every one of us beautiful. ‘Rare’ is such a special word to me, it’s all about eliminating the need for perfection. It’s about being comfortable with who you are, embracing who you are, loving who you are.”

It was her own personal challenges with mental health that inspired her to launch Rare Beauty, and had said last year at a press launch, “Because I have struggled, very openly, about anxiety, depression and mental health, I would say therapy and the time that I’ve taken for myself has actually just reflected everything that I’ve been releasing.”

If you’re purchasing from Selena’s cosmetics line, you might be touched to know that 1% of her Rare Beauty sales are donated to the Rare Impact Fund which is an organization striving to increase and improve access to mental health services in America.
