Cecilie Bahnsen Launches A Seasonless Collection On Matches Fashion

Each piece has a QR code powered by blockchain technology which will be the garment’s certificate of authenticity!

Cecilie Bahsen’s minimalist yet voluminous feminine dresses to pair with man-sandals or biker boots, have been on all of our fashion lust lists for quite some time, and depending on where you live, Bahnsen’s pieces each have a timeless flair about them. The eponymous label operates at the intersection of couture and ready-to-wear to create luxury clothing with a relaxed, timeless style.

Unique fabrics are hand-designed each season by founder and LVMH Prize finalist Cecilie Bahnsen, a Copenhagen native who returned to her hometown to found her eponymous label in 2015 after studying at the Royal College of Art in London and working with couture houses in Paris. If there’s any brand that can balance unexpected combinations of softness and structure, minimal and maximal, perfect and imperfect – it’s Cecilie Bahnsen and staying true to her aesthetic and concept, she is debuting a “seasonless” collection only on Matches Fashion.

Cecilie Bahnsen’s 9-piece seasonless collection translates the idea of wardrobe staples into the label’s romantic universe. Entitled “Edition,” the collection comprises signature pieces from past collections, including the designer’s favorite Beth dress, from her debut Spring/Summer 2017 collection.

Speaking about her minimal collection of forever pieces, Bahnsen says, “Edition came intuitively, out of a feeling I’ve had for a while now of wanting to do a collection of pieces dearest to me, to make them available all year round.”

Aware of how quickly the world of technology is advancing and how it affects every industry, the permanent collection marries fashion and tech in a unique way as each piece has a QR code powered by blockchain technology which will be the garment’s certificate of authenticity. This will also allow the wearer to see the garment’s journey; the development process and craftmanship that goes into creating each piece. Edition is another step towards integrity and consciousness at Cecilie Bahnsen, who has already taken several steps to minimise the label’s environmental impact.

“When introducing our first permanent collection, it was important to tell the story of the craftmanship behind each garment. The concept behind Edition is to encapsulate our universe – to translate the label’s signatures into indispensable pieces, only produced in timeless black and white,” added Cecilie Bahnsen.

The Edition collection launches online at mid-April 2021.
